Spiritual Progression beyond Reluctance and Religion

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, I am Reverend George Vale Owen, and a friend to you all on your journey in God’s love to His celestial kingdom.
The messages I received only a few years before James Padgett began his mediumship were meant as a harbinger to the great teachings of Divine Love that James received, and we have discussed this many times in spirit, along with our brother Robert Lees and many others. I was a pastor at a small Anglican church. I was a very sincere reverend, somewhat conservative and dogmatic in my Episcopal beliefs, and when I began to feel the presence of my mother and follow her instructions to write down what was coming through, I can tell you I was very reluctant, despite my deep longings to want to communicate with my beloved mother. And as some of you may know, this communication continued for quite some time, and as I became more prayerful and more comfortable, other spirits in higher spheres came through to guide me towards the fountainhead of God’s love through various spheres. Of course, much of what I received paralleled the work of James and Robert in correcting the errors in the gospels and yet quoting the truthful ones, the truthful passages leading the reader and myself beyond the limited world of my Christian faith and most particularly my Episcopal beliefs. I could feel the truth in these messages and I could feel the presence of the spirits in the room and sometimes could see them and I had no wish to perform any trickery or magic but simply receive truth, and as I persisted and the higher spirits came and opened the doors of my soul perceptions to the great love of God and the kingdom that was promised, it became easier to just relax, be still, and open to truth and the presence of God.
My messages were published in a weekly newspaper, and so I became somewhat of a reluctant celebrity in the spiritualist world. These messages were widely read, and I befriended Conan Doyle, whom you all are familiar with, and he became my great supporter. When I was dismissed from my ministry at St. Margaret and All Hallows’ Church, I found a home in the spiritualist churches of London and traveled and gave talks, and for a time was able to not only bring many people to spiritualism but also to the love of God and progression through the spheres beyond just simply being able to communicate with loved ones.
Because this is also the work that you do, it is my great honor to be able to address you, to thank you for not only reviving what was received so long ago, but for continuing to receive celestial messages as you call them, the truths of God’s kingdom through the progression of the soul, and above all, prayer to receive the love of God and be still in the great presence. You carry this torch into the darkness.
I wish to simply add that while you may find yourself in moments of doubt, reluctance, perhaps low self-esteem, regret, all these things that in the human condition are quite normal, you can always go to God and if you can find a quiet place, whether it be inside or in the bounty of God’s nature and beauty, you can go and open up and be lifted. And the more you receive this great gift, the more you can bless the world.
I thank you, each one, and my brother here, who certainly knows what it’s like to be reluctant, for taking this message. And lastly, I wish to assure each one of you that you have the support of innumerable angels and, most importantly and especially Master Jesus and his band, who all dwell far beyond religion in the love of God. May it be yours.
