Indulgences and Distractions

Brothers and sisters, I am your brother, Francis, and I come in the love of God into this circle of prayer.
If one could simply dismiss the world and all its trappings, encumbrances, intoxications, and distractions, one would be in a state of equanimity where adding a simple prayer would begin to transform one’s soul. When I walked away from the world, from the riches of my parents, from drunkenness, debauchery, war, and the world at large, it was because I had a great epiphany, a great crisis, and I realized, as I have said many times, I could not take any of these worldly things with me into spirit. I felt the love of God and embraced my brothers and sisters in this love. So strong it was that in the places we prayed, the presence of the love of God still resides, and many come.
It is less important than you might imagine that one understands all of the nuances of soul transformation, the platitudes of a new world coming, the whys and wherefores of inharmonies that exist in this world that you live in. And while it would be very peculiar and unique for a soul to have such a great epiphany to lead them directly into the love of God, you have all been blessed with these times in prayer, whether in community or alone. These times when you can speak from your soul to the heavenly Father and ask for at-onement and receive it.
We can see many times the struggles of individuals on this path of Divine Love and how they become concerned, doubtful, with feelings of unworthiness or simply not having progressed enough to their expectations and though I cannot recommend you all become monks or join a convent, I can recommend that you be mindful of the things that hold you back from the progression of your soul in God’s love. One of the reasons that repetitive chants to God, you can call them mantras if you like, one of the reasons these practices were created was to stop the endless cycle of negativity running through one’s brain, all the mindful concerns, worries, and doubts that penetrate the heart, that are hurtful, not only to others but to oneself. So, what you can do when you are struggling is take a good look at what you do during your day. What are the distractions that pull you from the harmony of prayer? The world is filled with a great many indulgences. One can imbibe many substances to ease their pain. One can be distracted by the crowd as my brother sang in his song 1, and I tell you there’s a great difference between communion and community, a great difference between that and just being in the crowd for a moment’s pleasure. So, it comes down to a matter of choice. Do you wish to indulge your distractions, your habits, and all those things that leave you feeling flat and discouraged, sometimes shameful or guilty, or do you wish to simply allow every moment to bring the possibility, if not the reality, of communion with your Creator?
It is not, as some imagine, a matter of rich or poor but a simple matter of allowing your heart to be open, that God may touch your soul. Whenever you feel a separation from the grace of God’s love, open your heart, allow the longings of your soul to bring you back into harmony, to lift you up. For the more you do this, the easier your progression, and in this walk in the love of God, there is grace, there is guidance, there is joy, and there is a wonderful synchronicity with the will of God. So, consider activating your own will to be more prayerful, less distracted, less indulgent, and more in harmony and more in this love, for the love of God is the great romance of every soul, should they choose this path.
I thank you for this time, and my brother for taking this message. My blessings and love to you all and to your beautiful earth and all its creatures. May the love of God be with you and in you and upon you. I am your brother in Christ.
I am Francis.
