Soul Detectives

September 13th, 2026

Harrow Spiritualist Church Retreat, Harrow, London, UK

Arthur Conan Doyle received by Jimbeau Walsh

I am here, my friends. It is I, Arthur Conan Doyle.

I should like to talk about detective work. As you may know, my protagonist always looked for unseen clues that would give a solution to a crime. I should like you to view this through the lens of your soul. Perhaps things you have hidden away: unseen baggage, blind spots, habits that are less than harmonious, addictions, or some grief that you stored away in your gut, some intellectual concept that did not produce an answer. As I spoke through my brother here last year and reminded those present that prayer was the great avenue to discovering the soul and its transformation in the love of God, I said to him, “Prayer, it’s elementary,” because it is the place to start.

All those things you have hidden away, if you wish to do the detective work or get psychoanalysis, or try to find your answers in books and nooks and crannies, you can spend a lifetime doing so. But if you step back and send up a prayer, not only asking for the love of God, which is preferable and primary, but as the gentleman said earlier, brings with it the company of celestial angels, you needn’t even know everything that is holding you back on your journey to the fountainhead of God’s love. Because as you pray, these things become exposed. It’s like shining a light down a dark shaft; it makes all the creepy crawlers come out, and the love you are asking for brings with it the expiation of things that you’ve held on to that are no longer worthwhile or worthy of your journey moving forward. The uniqueness of your soul deserves this. You are all worthy. Each one is blessed with gifts seen and unseen, but as the soul begins to expand in the great gift of the great love of God, you discover these gifts; you discover a life of service beyond what perhaps you even imagined, blessing every soul with the love in your soul, the glow in your heart, and the great light that illuminates the world.

So, I say, be a soul detective and be a humble servant, and all of the details that you are seeking will be revealed in the love of God. It is my delight to be here with you all, and I thank you for this time, my brother. May God bless you each.

I am Arthur Conan Doyle.
